Various factors have challenged the Ide family in recent years to question their own future as wood producers.

The financial crisis at the end of last decade severely undermined economic activity in general. It was no different in the wood sector.

Sales went down and an unprecedented price war ensued. Together with the sharp increase in raw materials, this led to an uncertain future for almost all local sawmills.

The Ide family decided to break new ground as a timber producer and turned their gaze to the changing needs of the market.

CEO Peter Ide: “The wood-processing industry is no longer looking for products, but for specific solutions for its needs. Today, customers are looking for efficiency and profit in their industrial processes. They want ready-made solutions that they can use immediately and without problems in their own production process. Customers want added value. This is why it is important to understand our customers’ business. Lefibo looked for the underlying needs of its customers and found that many wood consumers today still have to contend with restrictions in available crosscut sizes and lengths. They are often forced to deal creatively with available standard sizes and lengths on the market. This leads to extra internal costs and annoying loss of time.

It is precisely in this area that Lefibo wants to launch a new product range under the nameIDE Woods. The best way to unburden the customer of tomorrow was found in a state-of-the-art finger-jointing line with a wide range of possibilities, 6 built-in scanners and a high production speed. On this production line, with dimensionally stable finger-jointed wood we can anticipate the following advantages:

Finger joint on the thin side of the plank (minimal visual impact).
Rigid and stable wood over the entire length of the plank or beam.
Free choice of crosscut sizes, regardless of the standards on the market.
Possibility of fresh or dried finger-jointed wood.
Lengths available according to your own needs, shortened exactly to the millimeter. And this exactly according to the desired numbers.
Lengths possible up to 15 m.
Extra treatments possible: profiling, latting, impregnating, etc.
No cut-off losses.
No additional deployment of staff, machines (cost saving).
No storage of unnecessary lengths.
No residual waste.
Quality and strength according to your own needs: C18 – C24 – etc.
Possible in pine, spruce and Douglas fir.
Possibility of finger-jointing your own supplied wood.
